Message So, my roommate had this moded EVO 8 that he wanted to take home with to oversea last year,
But the import tax would kill him.
All taxes came up $30K + $2000 shipping.

So he came up with this idea of asking me to help out, and his approximate total cost came to
~$13000 including my plane ticket. Labor: $0.00

=======================================================
Basically, we played a Lego on his EVO…
Night 1:
Drained all fluid, removed frontal parts, and body parts after the rear seat.

============================================================
Day 2:
Power train and drive train were out.
Interior: I left the HVAC system and body wiring harness attached.
Engine bay: left the brake booster, some hard lines and some non-major stuffs attached.
The car was stripped enough for oversea custom to tax it.

I couldn’t resist. I had to do it, too :-P
Look for this short, black hair, good looking Zer at ZCON !!

============================================================
Day 3:
Some more final removal and clean up.
And packing.

=================================================================
Day 4:
And more packing….

Packing were professionally done by 2 great friends. What you see here were what we got at our destination oversea,
Which means no boxes and parts all over or missing :)?
Engine pallet and chassis container not shown in pix.

Basically, the purpose of stripping the car apart was to send them in as scrape metal and parts instead of a whole car for big break on import tax.

============================================================
2 months after,
All the pieces arrived oversea.
With my roommate’s help on interior and brake components installed,
we finished it in 22 hours from unpacking to called it good.
The car cranked right up the first try, hhehehehe.

Ok, I will also admit that I had an extra bolt left under the dash.
I knew where it went, but somehow, I couldn’t find the hole…..
And my roommate losed 2 bolts for the facia…..
Funny thing is that the dashboard is no longer squeaking :)
Neither of us own a digital camera, so no proof pix of the completed project…..
